Just pre-ordered a vinyl copy of 'Fires' as a birthday present to myself. This just happens to fall on the 13th April when I'll be on a day trip to London! It seems big number birthdays are a thing this April but it's an even bigger one for me - so old I can remember watching Sunday Night at the London Palladium on ITV!
If I'm reading the RSD site correctly the EP is a 10" rather than 12". Kinda frustrating - 12" is better quality, would match my other Nerina vinyl, plus you can get more songs on a 12" ..... still interested. of course. Wonder what size the run will be?
I appreciate the RSD is an exclusive on the day, but isn't there a bundle for the 3 CD and the vinyl? Will likely pick up all three at some point anyway. Any chance you'll be redoing all your albums in this vein?
Already got the vinyl on order before seeing this, but what you've prompted is discovery of an utter treasure house of Nerina covers and uses on TikTok which is just delightful!
Vinyl ordered. Some years after I started to buy your albums I saw 'Fires' in a second hand cd sale for £1.99 or 3 for £5. (I recall a Modest Mouse album being one of the others I bought). Looking forward to hearing it in full vinyl glory.
I feel like I should know but I hope this is a safe and forgiving space. Is there a story behind the Balloon Head Lady? Is it just a doodle and, if so, is it from back in the Fires days? Is it a personal brand (and, so, next step is world domination)?
I am so excited for this re-release and am already making my plans with overseas friends to try and source that beautiful RSD Special vinyl!! Will gladly keep sharing links and reposting stuff to get that algorithm working in your favor!
