For sure a remote Xmbo event just like those to which we were treated in lockdown (and which kept me sane) would be marvellous. This Will Be Our Year, please xx

So, the inner Dave is telling us we should all be happy to shit in a box and stay off X (the platform formerly known as Twatter)? I'm good with that!

The remote event sounds great.... I'f love to listen to you chat about how you chose your support acts.... I've followed both of the last two you've had.... oh and there is enough cheap talk out in the world without more arse comments!

You do realise of course, that your newsletters are worthy art in themselves? Well written, smart, funny, they cheer us up. A Christmas livestream sounds lovely. Dave (not a cat)

Sounds like you need to get out for a long walk, some fresh air, clear your head of all this social media mess, enjoy the beauty around you and realize, with all that goes on around you in the world...you are truly blessed...with talent, family, friends & followers.... remember what got you here 💖

I like the phrase digital landfill but I just don’t believe it applies to you. You have fans. We want to hear from you. Further, you write good, interesting, entertaining stuff.

Dec 17 is great for me. Afternoon drinking on a Sunday. I’m in.

Loved reading your post and it made me giggle a few times but agree with you about the importance of being true to yourself.

Social media burnout. Content creators are expected to release content daily to remain 'relevant'. Things go stale quickly in the Tik Tok world. Keep swiping down. Everything's on repeat. What if we really have nothing to say? Artists could once afford to stay silent for months until the muse hit. Nowadays everyone's an artist. Millions of digital montages released every day to join the swipe-down queue. Worse still, everyone's work is 'free' - especially music. Pennies from piggy-backed adverts if you're lucky. Not even an attention span for full sentences.

Hi Nerina,

I'm pretty sure Kate wouldn't tell her followers her favourite chord sequence this month.

And yet... I would love to know what your chord sequence of the month is (two consequent chords count as a sequence in this game). That's something I could share with my four grown-up Nerina-fan offspring, while my wife would knowingly wink and say "I wouldn't have chosen that inversion", then scream with laughter, because she neither knows nor cares what that is, but finds it hilarious that the rest of the family nerd out on such stuff.

G'wan, talk about yer favourite Steely Dan changes. Because even while the world appears to be intent on tearing itself apart, music can still help us.

x to the family

I understand your reticence with regard to social media in all of it's guises, but I am always more than happy whenever you want to unleash in that domain, for whatever reason. Who's to say that the way of Kate holds up for everyone in the here and now. In short, its always nice to hear from you re. arseholes or anything at all, the frequency is truly at your pleasure.

The December 17th idea sounds great! I would like to request We Made It Through Another Year.

My question is: How did Dave manage that?

Have a peaceful weekend!

You are about to receive opinions and statements regarding a cat's anatomy from vets and idiots alike. Watch out, Billie!

Your version of internet filler is much more valuable than most of the cage liner that buries us daily. I love the idea of an online appearance, since it's all I can hope for from this side of the ocean

I wish you and the family all the best of the holiday season!🌹🇨🇦

Thank you so much for making my day with this and your other messages. As I said when your asked if the Palladium gig was a good idea - I live in Vancouver BC and if you play I will be there - So myself and my eldest daughter will indeed be there, looking forward to being in a room with so many people who just love music, because it makes us feel something, no cats at my end, just three daughters - enough is certainly enough.
