Thank you for this, clear, well-written, funny and warm as always. Made my day. Now all I need is that new album. Please bother us with the hand of commerce as soon as possible (which will neither feel cold nor dead)!

That was brilliant! Your uni time was SO well spent. I laughed, I cried. I'd run on, but I have to go and purchase a hot new album that was expensive to make . Btw, my favourite line was the one about the dog's leg.

Will do! Always a pleasure to read your pieces, Ms P. But you forgot something: the threatened hard sell on the forthcoming album (not that I'd mind - I'm the sort of pushover who will probably end up with three copies anyway)

That was well written, funny, poignant, and full of pathos, do more and often! maybe links to songs could help, just a thought, keep up the good work 👍

Thanks as ever for your well stated but funny views on life as we all live it, great to hear there is a new album in the offing. The Photograph EP's got me through the lockdowns, a while ago now, but fondly remembered as I set about my "Boris walks" as you referred to them. (Strange that these recordings may have not seen the light of day if not for Covid, these "album rejects" are better than some albums from other artists in my view). So hasten to provide your latest offering so that we can all enjoy before the next apocalypse happens, (hopefully it won't!)

Woohooo… new album time!… and another opportunity to help the Pallot Corporation and sponsor the kids through school. Good news to hear about the Harp and Flute… and the Ovaries… well done you. Having bought Martha Wainwright album… Signed edition… would there be any new Nerina signed edition available pretty please?… just some scrawl would do. Keep safe

We are around the same age, I remember the nuclear attack adverts at school telling us to hide under a desk or mattress at home, not quite knowing at the time if it did strike there would be nothing left around me for hundreds of miles! Step forward 40 odd years and war is still futile brought about by power and greed, these days I'm weary of governments and so called leaders, msm and the like. I tend to get as much information about something before I put my foot in it lol. If I may ask of you and the fellow readers to look up the two documentaries by Oliver Stone about the Ukraine and Russia, they were produced around 5 -6yrs ago and do throw a bit of a light on the countries problems. Now! I'm always looking forward to your new songs and did enjoy the 'working' from home videos.

As an afterthought I've always fancied chucking fruit and vegetables at you! In a nice way of course 😊

From this, I can only think your dad moved to Australia as he knew, from Neville Shute's On The Beach, that's the last place that the deadly nuclear fallout would reach.

Hi Nerina, once again you put into words, so eruditely, much of what we're all thinking at the moment, but with your own inimitable humour. As with Covid, we're all in 'it' again, which is at least unifying. I certainly empathise with your dad's obsession with preparedness, only in my case it's an emergency reserve of Jack Daniels and pea and ham soup and, being a bloke, bins are high on my agenda. It's a shame 'The Queen's Gambit' skills eluded you, but I'm glad that all was well at the alter. I was waiting for your final sales pitch, but alas the wait continues in anticipation of the new album and I'm only too pleased to help with the costs when you're ready. Lots of love, F.

A wonderfully written and thought provoking piece Nerina.

Your musings are always a sobering read. I was 6 during the Cuban missile crisis I only saw the panic in my mum's eyes, but by all reports that was the closest we have been to the end, not of everything - there are always survivors - but of a way of life they had clung onto since the end of WW2 (in fact since the end of the dark ages). Not sure if Putin has a way back from his rhetoric. Stoopid man! Everyone needs to leave a way to climb down gracefully. Much as we do in everyday life - there you go a theme for a song. When is your album out? We need to know, if only to find out if you have actually managed to surpass "The heart is a lonely Hunter" and out do yourself - again! Keep Ukraine in your thoughts. Chris.

“Stationery traffic at Junction 16 of the M25”. Is there a big WH Smith at Junction 16?

Dark. Very dark. Now where is that "Buy now" button? There has been a Nerina draught the past couple years. Good to hear you are well and as always "on form".

Hello,

Well harp and flute are worth anyones pieces of gold!

Good read 'the grand chessboard' slightly unnerving in the chapter you mention.

To place some positivity in this world get the album out in vinyl and make many people happy.... chess with a good record on and a nice glass of wine trumps M25 any day of the week .... especially if the chess board is in the yorkshire dales and the wine is red and full bodied!

Always enjoy your newsletter and the prospective on situations!

I was waiting for the part where I get to order a record. To paraphrase the player in Ted Lasso, Music is Life. Just say when my friend.
