Brought a few tears to the eyes, a poignant song from my childhood, beautiful version. Ive recently come right back around to GOS and he's now a regular in my playlists all over again. Hope you're planning to record all these covers...

Hi Nerina,

Not sure if this is the best way to contact you, but thought I'd let you know that I spotted the main hook from your song "I Don't Want To Go Out" in a trailer for a Steam game called "Guilty As Sock". Not sure if you'd given them permission to use this but thought I'd best make you aware just on case.

Thanks

Sam

Lovely work. Thank you. Another data point to test the theory if it's possible for me to go near the subject of dead dads without crying. Still nope.

Working in BBC local radio for years, a young me thought of Gilbert as cheesy and dismissed him, to my shame. Only when my 22 year-old-daughter discovered this song a few years ago and asked

if I knew it did I reappraise it as the stone cold classic it clearly is. So delighted you’re a long-time fan, and love that story about him being so supportive. Gorgeous cover ❤️

I truly admire your commitment to produce a cover song for each of your forthcoming shows, Nerina. I've always been moved whenever I've heard Gilbert's songs, and this one in particular is another great choice by you. Knowing something of your favourite era for music, which also happens to be mine, speaks volumes!

Oi flower…

did you ever play the Minnak theatre nr Mousehole… and would you ever play there again.

I had a walk round with my young daughter there sometime ago on the beach… just to find nudists playing with a frisbee…. She turned and ran.

This project of yours continues to roll out some stunning covers, Nerina. IMHO this is a beautifully crafted interpretation of a poignant ballad - eclipsing the likes of none other than Nina Simone! BTW, picking up on a previous post, have you selected your preferred Labi Siffre song yet? Can’t wait…

What an amazing cover as always. I never really "got" Gilbert in my youth, he was always being played by Terry Wogan as I got ready for school but hell, as I've grown older, he really hits some emotional spots!! Thank you for this version, I can say that it brought a tear

Funnily enough, I'm always reminded of the beginning of this song when I hear you singing "Jump" on DFS!

It is a true gift to be able to translate experience and perception into squiggles and sound waves, which then induce different experiences and perceptions. Your music makes a lot of people in the world feel less alone too.

Can I come see you at Bowes?
