I love Paul Carrack’s voice too, so beautiful. I note someone mentions his singing with squeeze, I do particularly like his vocals on Tempted. Great story, thanks for sharing
If it's any consolation, I hadn't heard of Paul Carrack until quite recently. I watched an old Squeeze video on YT, and I couldn't work out who on earth the singer was. Turns out he was a member of Squeeze for short time, after Jools Holland went off to pursue his TV career.
Carack is a Genius. Jersey Girl Nerina even more so. Have seen you at Nunnington Hall yonks ago, Bowes Museum recently, and when you played St Helier Waterfront in 2010. I cried at History Boys xx
Fantastic-also a complete and utter brilliant song, one of my favourites too, an inspired yet respectful cover, I couldn't have enjoyed it more!! See you in Oxford xxxx
Great story - why not send Paul a ticket! I believe the bass player to whom you refer was Tex Comer, who had allegedly been enjoying a dalliance with the Sutherland Brothers And Quiver (worst band name in years). He has since played a lot with another of my musical heroes, Mickey Jupp. Good luck on the tour. - afraid I'm going nowhere until my new hip arrives. Love, Mike
I would have knocked out a drum track for you! Just sayin’…
Oh and the cover of How Long is Fab !!

Anthony Michel from da Haute Vallée Massive.
I enjoyed this very much. Are you going to add it to streaming services so I can add it to kitchen playlist?
Wonderful cover and newsletter
Your immersion in others music has led you to composing a whole catalogue of your own music with more than just a sparkle of magic.
